The RipTones formed in late 1990.  The original line up was upright bass, drums played with brushes, rub board, guitar and accordion.  After a quick splash on the scene the RipTones made a video of the song Carry On, from their first CD ëCool Handî.  The video directed by Jebís brother Jay and with the help of many competent professionals, friends and family made it into rotation on the Nashville Network.  The band also did a live interview on Video Morning on TNN.

After a few line up changes the RipTones developed into their now known guitar driven roots rock country style.  Their 2nd CD ëWorld Renownedî was co-produced by sought after session bass player Dave Pomeroy and Guitar Ace Ian Spanic of the legendary Milwaukee band The Spanic Boys.  The band opened for Trisha Yearwood at Ravinia as well as many high profile gigs with the likes of The Texas Tornadoes, Jason and the Scorchers, Carl Perkins, Shaver as well as many others.

Their 3rd CD ëExtra Sauceí was released on Bloodshot Records and was produced by Ian Spanic.

This CD garnered some outstanding critical notice and charted as high as #18 on the Gavin American charts.

Their fourth CD, ëCowboys Inní received even more national press including the Washington Post, and USA Today and the band toured the United Kingdom as well as both coasts of the US.

Their fifth release ëBuckshot, also on Bloodshot Records, was promoted with tours of the east coast and some opening spots with Los Straitjackets and Dave Alvin. Buckshot featured a video of the lead track ìRebel Rock Armageddonî.

The Riptones then released an instrumental disc to very positive reviews.  It is homage to some of their heroes like Booker T and the Ventures, Slant 6 has some old favorites as well as new material, and is a must for any fan of instrumental music.
